Error Or Condition What To Try
No license found 1) Verify your account to make sure you’re using the right one, and have a current subscription.
2) If you don’t have a current subscription:
Sign up for a trial account
Continue using Office 2016 for Mac to read Microsoft Office documents. You won’t be able to save or edit documents.
Office 365 subscription expire Verify your account or sign up for a trial account, as described above.
Unable to activate office
1) Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, and then wait 5 minutes or so and try again.
2) Verify your account to make sure that you’re using the right one, and have a current subscription.
3)Reset your license files by running the script in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 3025946.
4) Uninstall Office 2016 for Mac, and then try reinstalling and activating again.
